“If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts he shall end in certainties.”

-Francis Bacon

I’ve been reading a lot more this past month, discovering all sorts of wonderful quotes about life and such. Today there was a partial eclipse, Mike and I made a shadow box to view it, it was pretty cool. I’ve been looking at getting a job out of state, since there just doesn’t seem to be anything here in the Seattle area anymore, unless of course I’m a programmer, or a high-end Peoplesoft person. Mike and I have been talking a bit more about moving to Baltimore, it would seem to be the only other place in the US that he is at all interested in, mostly because of the John Waters connection. Personally, I’m looking at Baltimore, or Philadelphia. I lived in Philly back in the end of the 80’s, I really liked it but was too young to appreciate what I had there. I also wasn’t nearly ready to settle down at that point, not that I am now either. I get a bit of wanderlust in my blood, and wonder what it would be like to live here or there. It isn’t nearly as strong a force in my life as when I was in my mid-20’s. Anyway, I’m looking for work in the Philly or Baltimore area. My only concern with the Balitmore area is that I’ve heard there is A LOT of crime there and that frightens me. According to the websites that I’ve gone to the statistics indicate that crime there is much higher than here in Seattle. I would be concerned more for Mike than myself, he isn’t very stree-wise, not that one would have to be if they were raised in Pullman as he was. I was raised in NY and have almost always been in Major Urban centers my whole life. Well, I hadn’t meant this to be a long post but it is. Here’s to hoping for a new job here or there, SOON SOON SOON.
